or just not be overpowered
i dont think you realize how silly and suey you look when you say "i flawlessly kill the bad guy"
maybe instead of self-aggrandizing stuff like
I engage the last bandit of the first batch and quickly dispose of him after a few bursts of my cannon.
try "I tail the bandit and fire on him with the cannon" and leave it up to the DM (or the dice) to decide whether or not you actually kill them
or instead of cringeworthy eyesores like
Obviously out of revenge for his friend, a bandit locks onto me and fires a missile. I deploy chaff, and do a high-g maneuver in order to get on his tail. I lock onto him and fire a missile. He deploys chaff, and my missile swerves off and ahead of him, promptly exploding. He swerves, too focused on avoiding the cloud. I fire my second missile, and it successfully hits him. It hit the fuel tank, because the whole plane explodes. "1 left."
You stop after "I try to get on his tail" and wait for the DM to respond whether your attempt was successful before you go full blowhard and write a resume about how good you are at shooting missiles.
