I'm eyeballing that GX60 38E-240, that forgeter would wreck almost any game, and there are a lot of really good cheaper options too

it's MSi so you know you're going to get a well-built system, their gaming laptops are legendary, and of course you have the benefit of customizing your system to fit your needs + not having a stuffload of bloatware loaded on it when you buy it

i would say a ThinkPad is also a good option, but unfortunately I haven't used a Lenovo ThinkPad, only IBM-branded ones, so I can't speak for the models that are currently available
I don't like the design of those too much, I mean they're not bad but I like the design of thinkpads more but they're really overpriced
Also I have a thinkpad r60 B-)

Just get a laptop that can run Blockland and Minecraft, all the while having the nice security that it won't fry after 10 months of use.

Get one of those Lenovo thingies.

I looked around on that site Takato linked and found this: http://www.xoticpc.com/msi-gp70-leopard010-p-6962.html

I also found out that shipping is absolutely ridiculously expensive for US to Canada; $55 to ship with UPS ground + around $80-100 in brokerage fees. And the other option without brokerage fees is $125, so either way insanely expensive.

I found the same model laptop at http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152568 and it's $100 more, which doesn't surprise me in the sligtest, but it seems with GST/HST included it's $1079. Is there anything I'm missing from this total or is that it?

there's an alienware laptop at walmart (or my walmart atleast) for $1,179

but i'm sure you'd want that

forget off

direct that to blockguy pls
and you like to say those words a lot

and

nal just gets mad sometimes a lot

Just something for general day-to-day use, I'm hoping for something that will make the most of the $1k with good HD space, something capable of playing less intensive games, isn't too heavy and will last a while. I can't emphasize enough that the limit is $1000, if it's just $50 more my parents may be okay with that but much more I seriously doubt.

If that's all you want, you really shouldn't need to spend more than $600 or so.

He said he wont go more than $50 over his $1000 budget, also who wants to buy a alienware, wtf.

Its kind of dumb that people break out their wallets to a stupid name which adds no benefit to you at all.
