about 8 hours a week. no body in my town hires people except the Mcdonalds. im not loving exaggerating or anything. our town announced that Mcdonalds and Emperor city (Which just opened) are the only two businesses that have hired anybody in the past 3 months.

but we have so many loving employees that we only get to work about 8 hours a week. i work on the 4th and 5th this week... thats it till next payday.

I have a job interview today

I kind of wish I had a job but I'm not in biking/walking distance from anywhere

I take the subway or bus to my job.

Put half of your earnings into a savings, and the other half you can go crazy with

I don't have much to play around with, considering I only have an additional $400 in my savings account, so that means I'll have about 1100-1300 in total in my account after I finish working in mid-August. When I have at least $5000, I am planning on putting a few hundred into a commodity like oil if the time is right.

I don't really have a plan for investment although I probably should.  I want a checking account but I first need a valid reason for my parents to consider it, who want me to have a savings account (I don't really get the point of it...)

Immediately when I pick up a job, my parents are going to put me on insurance coverage so I can drive to and from work when I'm able to with the whole "vehicle shortage" problem we're dealing with.  Every penny I make is going to be scraped together to get a reliable car that I can use full time.  Then we'll see how things go from there.

Congrats and good luck buddy.

i used to work at a staples center last summer

havent done anything this summer though, besides yardwork for neighbors

i'd love to get a summer job, but i'd really only have one month to work because i go to wisconsin to see my grandma every summer. my mom tells me that no one would really be interested in hiring someone who can only work there for a month.

if i could, i would've applied to work at the acrylic plant that my dad works at, but they can't employ anyone under 18 due to the heavy machinery there :(

I enjoyed my first job for the first couple days, been at it for 6 months now and I am no longer having fun, i'll say that much.
