Author Topic: I am having my first job next week.  (Read 1468 times)

For that matter, it starts next Monday. I'll be working as a custodial helper in this school in a ghetto area. I already got an idea of what it was like, and couldn't stand the people I'd be working with. I will work with it though, and just do well so next year I can get this opportunity again. I'll be making about $900-1200 in 6 weeks which is pretty nice, and I plan on putting it into college savings. I'm mainly doing this for the money, it's something to do over the summer rather than sitting at home, it's a first time actual work experience, and because it'd look great to have summer jobs listed on my college resume. I also plan to volunteer at a nursing home when I turn 16. In the past 6 months I realized how important saving my money is, and how important working is. I've never had the willingness to work hard in my life like I do now.

Wish me luck!

What was it like for your first time working at an actual job?

Oh I'm 15.

I'll see what I can do!

My first job was as a Ski Lift Operator last winter. I never knew how bad the cold could hurt. It was a super easy job, I worked nights which were nice. Working the mornings sucked so hard, being outside in sub freezing weather before sun rise was awful. It was also like a 9 hour shift which was awful.

I thought your job would be to spy on the elks

I feel young getting my first job at 15 considering you were 19 when you got yours. Also the job seeks like something that I'd want to do, how much was the pay?

That's just a hobby.

$7.25 an hour, it's a super easy job that takes no skill. I'm sure most ski resorts also pay minimum wage. You also have to be 18 since you're dealing with safety stuff

im calling a marketing company to schedule an interview for a paid internship tomorrow 8)

I'm being paid $8.25 per hour for 5 hours, 5 days a week.

Oh hope you get the job!

I kind of wish I had a job but I'm not in biking/walking distance from anywhere

$900-$1200 being put away for college???

Man you gotta party it up. Go buy yourself 900-1200 $1 hookers.

Put half of your earnings into a savings, and the other half you can go crazy with

I am eighteen and have still not had a paying job.

I got a call on my phone today but it didn't leave a voicemail (I was out mowing, so I didn't have it with me). I tracked the number online and it led to a Wendy's near me that I applied at last Friday. Calling back later, hope it's something.
