Author Topic: Bricks not rendering when I plant them?  (Read 1891 times)

Everyone else can see them apart from me, it's not always happening, just some times.

It happened towards the end of the log because it's quite long.

Just sometimes? Do you look at your console while it's happening? Any errors? Perhaps add an echo onPlant.

Code: [Select]
==>RandomBrick();
==>RandomBrick();
Hm. Must be your latest creation? (Nice. Downloading.)

But yeah, I'm not too sure. Anyone else see anything?

That was just me playing with the Random Scroll =D. It's way after that and yes only sometimes; has happened twice this week.

This happens to me actually. On someone else's server, I tried to hammer the invisible brick and BL crashed.

It's not just my bricks that do it when planted it's other people's aswell but just faces missing or them overlapping.

I know that this happens to people when they load sometimes and that Badspot doesn't know why. Is that the same case with this?

I'm not sure.

The problem with loading happens if I load bricks outside of the mission area, I can reproduce this bug at will... although, it looks like it occurs for other people while bricks are actually inside the mission area. Weird. It also occurs when bricks overlap, as I've found through experimentation. While I'm not sure what causes it, I'm pretty sure that it should be investigated.

I'll try reproducing the bug. If I load while I'm near the bricks, the overlapping doesn't occur, but if I fly over to an area that I loaded bricks far away from, the bug can occur. It might be something to do with server-client syncing. I just can't imagine what.

Sometimes instead of never rendering, bricks just take like a few seconds to render on other people's servers.

Lol at you not knowing what you're talking about.

Lol I think the um problem is in the er protocol of the rendering because it likes to take a bit to register for the client because you know they are far away from their computer and stuff and its just logical with the internet if you think about it

Wtf just happened?  That should have all be one post.  Damn you forum for loving up a good joke.  I didn't even try to edit it.

Curse you Badspot for taking away our edit button to fix embarassing mistakes such as these!
