Author Topic: Looking for old PCs  (Read 1750 times)

I am currently looking for Old/broken PCs, with or without a monitor.
It doesn't matter if it is pre-built or an all in one PC (Monitor+Tower).

As long as it is no older than Windows XP Windows 95 if it has windows.
Ill just add my own OS if it is this old so dont worry.

If you are whiling to donate to me you're old computer(s) or Monitor(s) please PM me.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want old PC's even though you want someone to donate them to them? I'm not saying it's useless, but what are your intentions?

I have an Etower 400i3 win98 with an Etower keyboard and an old mouse on its back. But I wont give it too you unless you pay me. Sry

why though?

Trying to collect parts to build my own PCs and use them for Servers.

I have a Pentium-based windows 95 machine with 45MB of RAM, a 24-bit color GPU, and a CD writer

an i486-based windows 3.1 system with 3.5" and 5" floppy drives, 4MB of RAM, and a 2GB HDD

an AMD Athlon-based windows XP system without RAM/HDD

an Intel Celeron D-based windows XP system without RAM/HDD

and... I think that's it

pay for shipping and they're yours

(shipping will be exorbitant of course as each of them are a good 10-20 pounds)

-snip-

How much for shipping via United Postal Service (UPS)

IMO you're better off looking on craigslist or something under the computer (or maybe even free) sections
Anything worth any value, and usable for anything modern, people probably aren't going to give you free, and shipping can be a decent amount for something as heavy and big as a whole computer

How much?

huh, I actually dont know. Id have to think it over for awhile. But wont you be better off just buying parts and stuff? Youd get better quality

why don't you just try getting the gold and silver off of the circuit boards instead

wait, how efficient is this?

I never thought of that

I have a spare Motherboard I can take the stuff out of and sell/melt/ect. for money to buy parts.

But Idk.

probably very inefficient, lol

unless your board is already half gold/silver, you probably won't make much extracting the precious metals out of it

you'd be better off selling it on ebay most likely

btw, i have a windows 7 (really effectively XP) desktop that I haven't touched; it has a 3 ghz pentium, 1 gig of mixed up ram, and a 40gb hard drive, but i don't really intend on getting rid of it so sorry
