btw, i have a windows 7 (really effectively XP) desktop that I haven't touched; it has a 3 ghz pentium, 1 gig of mixed up ram, and a 40gb hard drive, but i don't really intend on getting rid of it so sorry

If your not getting rid of it please dont post it

Id expect UPS shipping would be about $200 if it's within CONUS

but I cant ship via UPS because the only post office even remotely closeby is USPS

so it'll probably be more

But why do you need five of them?
Why can you not just run all the server software on one computer, or use virtualization?

Why don't hosting services just run all their clients on one Computer?

Because it gives better performance.

Professional hosting services don't host on a residential connection (which I assume you are)
What are you hosting? Depending on what you're hosting, on a residential connection, you'll likely encounter bandwidth issues before RAM/CPU use issues

tbh youd get better performance if you just ran 2/3 servers on 2 new computers, than if you used old pc.
