When picking a new antivirus a few days ago, I was originally gonna go with Avast. However, I've seen some bad reviews of it. Now I'm glad I just coughed up another $90 for Eset.

Eset's great, but it's extremely pricy. 1 year = $50. 2 years = $90.

i don't use an antivirus because i'm not dumb enough to go downloading suspicious things that could possibly be a virus
even if it is accidental :I

been 4 months with this new pc and i haven't had a single virus yet, and i'm not planning to have anytime soon

"Even if you do everything right, it's still possible to get a virus."
~Gigafide/Tinkernut

Not sure why I put that in quote format, but it's the truth.

If your boards are made of steel, this plan seems more feasible.
The point is it doesn't make any difference because their's still a forgetton of water outside your house and you can get out without letting it all in.
IMO a better example would be trying to stop a flood by boarding up a single room in your house.
DoS attacks can't be stopped via a program running on an individual computer, because by the time it gets there, it's already saturated the line up to your router, and your router. Even if you put DoS mitigation on your router, that's still not doing anything, because the line up to your router is still saturated. It has to be done at a level higher than that, such as your ISP blocking it

I am not getting an anti-virus, it's just useless, period.

What if a whitelisted site is compromised and the attacker replaces web content with malicious code?
Does NoScript have heuristic features like an antivirus would?
What about other sources of malware?
One thing isn't going to protect you from everything
