why the forget does my youtube start loading in potato quality?

after about 5 seconds, it turns into normal quality.



what the forget is up with this? it stopped for a little bit a couple days ago but now it's starting again

i have adblock installed, could that have soemthing to do with it?

i hate this, it happens to me too

sometimes it doesn't even go to normal quality, or it was in normal quality at first and then changes to potato quality

I found this happens with a lot of streaming services.
even Netflix starts with a low definition stream for a few seconds until it thinks your internet is speedy enough, or isnt.

It starts low quality for people with bad connections. Once it realizes your internet can handle it, it ramps it up to HD. If you want, you can force it to always start in a certain quality with any of the various YouTube utilities. I use YouTube Center.
