Author Topic: New LG G3 is out - Need Android Advice  (Read 3813 times)

So I been looking for a good android phone for about 2 months now and i'm really liking the LG G3, I can get it for about $580 with AT&T Next Plan, so I think i'm just going to get that.

Right now I am really tied into the Apple Ecosystem (iBooks, iTunes, iCloud, etc) and I want to ask here if anyone has any advice for a person that has always used an iPhone.

Also I am not installing a custom ROM because I actually like what LG did with the look of the OS.

android is p easy to get used to

android is less stuff and doesn't require applications to use

i had an ipod 4th gen before it quit and i got an android, it's easy to get used to but there's so many things you can change and personalize. most of the apps i used were there

lg's skin might have a few extra features that change the experience but overall it should be ok

its not a hard switch, android is pretty intuitive on 4.0+

i went from android to ios

i had my android rooted and with a lot of custom mods thanks to xposed and installed a lot of custom ROMs along the way

what i would recommend that if you ever want to root, be really careful, otherwise after you flash and flash and such, you will eventually get to a point where your system turns to stuff such as loss of battery life

i prefer ios because of the simplicity and already inbuilt features that are easy to access, and also i 100% prefer the aesthetics of ios

don't root your android phone unless you know what you're doing, the LG G3 is a bad phone I think. I got the Samsung Galaxy S5 over the LG G3 and I don't regret it. Although now I would choose the HTC One M8 over the Samsung now because my design preferences keep changing.

yeh, all the ios stuff should be easily converted without issue, i had an iphone 5 before i got my S5

Android is love, Android is life.

I already clearly stated I would NOT root, thanks for reading.

The S5 TouchWiz looks like utter stuff imo, and the LG G3 has better specs than the M8.

its not even out yet...
how could you choose it over the other when one isnt even released

im sorry but installing custom roms is NOT the same thing as rooting

installing custom roms is only one of the things you can do with rooting, sadly it seems to be the only thing anyone seems to notice when they first learn about modifying your android

My bad, thought it was the same thing.

rooting is just gaining admin access so you can do more with it

installing a custom rom is, well... just putting a different OS on it

well its android but with different customizations
unless you want like, ubuntu or something

I don't see a point to root now that I have an unlocked bootloader, it seems if you forget something up on the rom, you cant fix it.
