revamp the climbing so it's not just mindless spamming a wall + hovering up.

maybe add the ability to grab ledges and pull yourself up them? maybe add wall-jumping that requires you to jump wall to wall?

or maybe

add rocket jumping

just throwing the cards all over the table

agreed with this
a way of climbing that involves more than just mindlessly clicking a wall seems fun

Yes remove it please. everytime i join the game there "uberpros" climbing up to the highest point and just camping THERE - i cant climb up there because im not that good and in the end the climbers are the campers.

how can you be not good at climbing when its literally just spamming right click

there isn't some deep and meaningful mechanic beneath it.

you spam right click and you go up.

Note: if you want a different mechanic to replace the current climbing, vote for "Remove Climbing". The poll is about this exact climbing mechanic as it is now.

I think being able to climb is the same thing as the grapple being in grapple knife. It's there to give you a chance to get back on top. I mean, it should be if you fall, you fall and you have to walk back up to there (or if your in grapple knife, just fall and die)

Climbing allows you to right click bricks to "climb" the walls upwards. This allows you to use your surroundings as an advantage over your opponent and find other ways than just using the map builder's way up. This creates creativity in the way you go up. Players learn other player's climb patterns and retaliate with tactics to render these patterns unusable, forcing you to think of other ways to get up. This creates a flow of play that changes regularily as people adapt to other people's movements.

If climbing wasn't there, you would have to:
a. go up the only way via the "builder's path" which will most likely be camped by other players
b. try and corner-glitch up bricks (there aren't that many places for this to be used)

Most of the maps already have multiple paths to the top though. And if they don't noone says they can't be improved.

The problem I noticed was that a lot of the builds weren't originally designed for there to be climbing, so it makes it too easy to get to the highest point.

The maps weren't designed with climbing in mind at all. That's also why it can easily be removed again. Tower of Heaven will have to go, but it seems everyone hates that map anyways.

Climbing should stay

k bai

Hyper Tower and Doomland are pointless now that climbing is in place, before people had to actually strategize and work together to reach the top, and now its just "spam right click until you make it". Hyper Tower was super easy if you knew what paths to take, and now its just pathetically simple.

There are also glitches with ladders that let you shoot up super high into the sky, which is really dumb and unfair in certain circumstances.

Yes the ladders need to go. It is stupid with being able to climb the cranes on construction site with click spamming plus ladder. Climbing ladders should either have the setPlayerVelocity removed or get rid of the ladder, but climbing is still good for getting a boost up instead of hopping in corners waiting for a glitch to bounce you up.

I can get to the top of both maps without using glitches in only like 3 minutes.

Yes the ladders need to go.
no - the climbing needs to go instead.

And the ladders will have to be changed to use setVelocity instead of addVelocity, so pressing E and left mouse at the same time no longer shoots you in the sky.

Climbing makes it less of a challenge.
We want it to be a challenge.

This, and make it a bit slow.
