Vista Issues

Hmmm... just got a new system with vista premium.... when I go to join a server the whole server list comes up dead even though I can see how many players, server name ect. If i try to join one of the servers the connection times out.. it worked fine with XP. Any ideas?

Oh yeh it's not the firewall or AV blocking it.

Did you upgrade XP to Vista? Try reinstalling Blockland.

Nope, I didn't upgrade.. and I've tried reinstalling with no effect.

I have a Vista but its not this problem.... My prob is that mine wont even run...

Update drivers, Vista works differently with Routers as I found out.

My current Lan IP is 192.168.0.182 which means I have to set my Blockland port forward to IP    192.168.0.182. So when ever I want to host I have to port forward and it changes every time I restart the computer.

Eh.. sounds to me liek you've got the internet settings to generate an IP automatically.... you can set your own internal IP, just go to network properties, manage network connections, LAN properties, and then in the box one of the internet protocol's properties and you can choose your own IP.

You mean Static IP address? I can't do that.

That thread mentions nothing about connecting to a server, it just says how to RUN blockland. I can run blockland fine in singleplayer.

Yeah that thread was so pointless, unless your computer is jammed packed with Anti Viruses and that crap I doubt it'll do any thing.

Sorry, AnimeMasta, I'm not too sure I can help or not. The problem would probably be in Vista's handling of networking, but I wonder...

When you click join server, does it simply crash then or does it attempt to load the game? That might help us, or Badspot at the very least.

They load as normal but after a second they all go dead.
