Author Topic: People who refuse to leave the drama board.  (Read 5640 times)

If you have a addiction to social drama in a game about building blocks on blocks there's a problem here.
Some of you know who you are but i wont point fingers, something has to change today. This board can be used a lot less if we can work out personal interactions privately, it reduces the feeling of victimization and there's less of a reaction of denial.
I'm not saying this board is useless but in some topics where people have problems with other people who bump too often (hint hint) about subjects they have passion for its a sign of how easy we are to commit to life long conflict. its not healthy.
I'm hoping we can have a intelligent debate about conflict resolution and its benefits long term as the society that is blockland forums.

This is why we need to use the How To that AdinX wrote.

I COMPLETELY AGREE.
But this is the BLF, which is populated by angsty teens and every once a while, a player that is the games actual demographic. There's gonna be pissy fights, because the populous doesnt have the brain function to reason well or not argue constantly.
I encourage you to ignore it. God knows that’s what everyone else does.

i think we ought to remember the fact that drama is a trash can, where hopefully problems go to be sorted out here rather than general discussion or something. that's basically it's purpose.

ignoring those who can not reason is just second nature, obviously its not been working because some of those topics are the most replied to.

If you want an intelligent discussion, you need to take this to Off Topic.
People are angry and stupid in drama. Their anger blinds them, and their opinions give them a sense of power. "WELL I THINK!" is all you will get here.

I do agree with you. Settling things via personal messaging is a much more efficient problem-resolution than dramaing someone for something small. But that isn't something that you or I or anyone can convince the entire forum of.

In my interactions with other people, I have found that when it's smaller details, people are more willing to change to fix the problem when you contact them directly. I've even made close friends doing this. But then sometimes it does nothing. Practically the entire forum has tried telling Snaked_Snake to slow down and think before he posts, but look where he still is.

Technically it's more like a (ancient athenian) court, and we're all the jury except for a select few, the perpetrator, the victim(s), and the witness(es, if any to begin with).

nah

that would imply justice gets served

that would imply justice gets served
in some cases it does
in the form of everyone hating on the perpetrator, anyway
there are the very rare cases where the perpetrator gets banned during the events of the unfolding drama, so I guess that sort of counts too
and then there was the one thing with TNC

if you are reading this, i 100% disagree with you. and i challenge you to a long angry debate.

This might be true, if the jury had any say in anything on the forum. The most your "jury" can do is hassle around these "perpetrators" where ever they post, something you have taken a liking to, AutoBahn.

yeah not if i use an ad hominem attack
