Author Topic: Got a job interview tomorrow.  (Read 1746 times)

I'm a laborer for a masonry company.  I get more than minimum wage, but the effort you put in is far more than minimum too.  Great though, no need to pay for a gym membership, hauling cinder blocks and buckets of bricks, mortar, or grout up five levels of scaffolding with a pulley (not the type that makes it easier, literally just a wheel) really builds muscle.
are you buff and handsome from it

We ask the real questions here on the Blockland forums.

I just started my first job ever last week as a custodial helper, and god I never wanna do this type of work again. That's why I wanna do well in school and move off to vet school. Hard labor doesn't require any brains. I want a job that requires thinking.

On the bright side, the interview is at like 2 in the afternoon, so I can sleep in.

Sleep? Job interviews?

stick it in his pooper

I remember my last job. That was forgeted up, had a whole "LEL LETS STEAL CASH FROM REGISTURE" thing going on. I got in trouble for it to, like...what did a guy lifting huge crates off a truck ever do? Never working at a gas station again.

Good luck.

I've been applying everywhere for almost a year and only had one interview (Steak n Shake). Wendy's called me two weeks ago offering an interview but they wanted me in the restaurant within a couple hours of the call, but I didn't have any way to get there. I asked if I could do an interview the day after because I was leaving on a week+ vacation and he said he would call me back. He never did :c

I've never really had an "official job" like you guys, if anything the closest I had was an animation mentor at my school last summer.

Made 250$ out of a week, got a free movie pass and it went to my trip to NYC B)

But since I graduated better get a looking :V

hi i'm tommy.

yeah...

i just recently got a job at target doing backstocking (mostly because mack kept bugging me to apply again for the same store since i'm a lazy starfish who sits all day in a wooden chair which gave me scoliosis)

the interview felt so bad at first since i had to describe myself without being a smartass and i just blurted out that i liked working with computers. from there it got better and we had conversations about canadian targets and other things based on the questions and stuff.

the one chick who interviewed me first was like "awh, are you nervous? don't worry it's just target."

second chick was like meh and really generic, until i found out she was the ETL (basically 2nd biggest boss) for sales floor stuff.

i was like oh stuff a third interview wat but this older lady was like "WELL GUESS WHAT YOU GOT THE JOB!!!"

here's some tips from a guy who had that said interview last week:

  • be yourself
  • don't act nervous (it's hard but i got comfortable about it)
  • make eye contact to this person and be as polite as possible
  • SHAKE PEOPLES HANDS WHEN YOU MEET THEM. (hi i'm tommy nice to meet you)
  • always just keep in mind that this is an opportunity and always thank them for their time to speak to you.

that's really about it. good luck on that interview!

I would be ok with a lot of jobs
but I don't want to clean
that's my stopping point
I'm not gonna clean up other people's messes

I really do, he had like 3 applications to go through, so I'm not sure what a fast interview really means.
