I just thought that in the main series he was supposed to have died. Either in World War Hulk or the Civil War?

Captain America did die in the Civil War, assassinated by the Red Skull.


Actually, now that I look at my copy of The Marvel Encyclopedia (2009), he didn't die. But he did fall out of service after being brainwashed by Scarlet Witch.
