can someone give me an ELI5 on texturing

i have literally no idea what to do. i have everything i need, the colors, model, scripts, and its all packaged in to an addon. its just entirely untextured
so can someone give me a basic tutorial on how to texture models? i use blender 2.69 for modeling and blender 2.49 to export.

I'm sure that a tutorial you can get by Googling is better than one on the BL forums can provide.

Are you talking about texturing in terms of putting bricks on a wall or texturing in terms of making said brick wall orange in color but nothing else?

That not really texturing in the traditional sense but it's sometimes referred to as creating materials.
