Apparently you can't be diagnosed with both depression and bipolar disorder. I was almost diagnosed with dysthemia (a type of depression) but I couldn't because I have hypomanic episodes.

The only reason I don't step foot in the furry thread is simply because I'm afraid to have to bear witness to whatever disgusting stuff is in there. It's bad enough seeing their trash in the drawings thread and about, but I'm not subjecting myself to a thread dedicated to the subject.

I find that hard to believe because my mother is diagnosed with both.

Maybe it's only for dysthemia? Again, i'm not a medical expert and you're probably right anyway. And while we were discussing it I thought the reasoning behind it was because people who experience bipolarity have depressive episodes, so depression diagnosis is probably redundant? Again, I'm not so sure.

Yeah, the chances of it happening are frightening, especially when they're not diagnosed and you don't know exactly what it is.
