Author Topic: Does anyone know of a service such as this?  (Read 928 times)

I need a free service which I can use to indefinitely store files which can be accessed through a direct link and use http instead of https (like http://www.example.com/file.zip). I know this is a tall order, but if anyone knows of such a service, I'll be much obliged. :)

dropbox public folder? i think it lets you use a lot of files in browser too.

Mediafire.
i used to use this 100% of the time but dropbox is so much easier
if you download it to your pc you can just drop files into a folder and they get uploaded instantly

Mediafire files decay after a long time, making the file return an error.

Use dropbox because hostr uses https indirect.

mega?
This fits only one of the requirements OP mentioned. And that's that it's a file hosting service.

are you asking for a service to upload to?
try mega
if you have a site host stuff off there, its easier imo
can you elaborate what you mean

You don't access files through a direct link. So no, it doesn't meet his requirements.

i dont think websites "use" http or https
i think you can just edit it in the url and it will work either way

can you elaborate what you mean
He explained exactly what he needs

A site to upload to that lets you direct download and doesn't use https
