The overseer nods in approval and waves to the Security Chief, who is sitting at the helm of the Vault Door control panel. The Security Chief acknowledges by flicking two switches and gripping the lever that will open the Vault Door. The overseer and the Security Chief seem very tensive- this will be their first time as well. Nobody else has ever exited the Vault, since the earliest days of your lives you have never heard of anyone leaving. The overseer pulls out a folded sheet of paper and unfolds it in front of you. Visible text on the paper reads "Map of North California." The overseer opens his mouth to speak,
"Listen up. Your mission will be to head to this satellite installation over here-"
He points to a red marking.
"-our Vault is here."
He points to a blue marking several miles away to the east.
"Your job is to find the central computer and upload the program on this holodisk by inserting it into the disk drive slot on the front panel. Similar to our computers. The satellite installation is located mostly inside a mountain, when you upload the disk the satellite chamber roof will open and the dish itself will pop out and send the signal. The entrance is camouflaged and well hidden, it's located 2 stories above the ground and the door is covered in a desert pattern. This door is located on the north side of the mountain. Here's the key to open it."
He hands you both the key and the holodisk.
"We don't know what's out there, so be careful. Don't disappoint me, boys."
The overseer turns to the Security Captain and gives him a thumbs up. The Security Captain turns the lever, almost smashing it down on the panel.
The Vault door shrieks as it's century old slumber comes to an end. Metal scrapes on metal as the Vault Door slides out of it's gear-shaped binding, making an incredible noise as two worlds meet once again. After 30 seconds the door starts to rotate to the side as it makes way for your party to exit the safety of the Vault and enter the remains of the old world you saw in movies and pictures. Welcome home.
