from Facebook post.

Awesome! His mom is very smart and good idea!

furling why do you post every weird buzzfeed facebook repost thing you find to the forums like they dont need entire topics

also I'm confused about your grammar. my mother has a blind client and he can talk/write fine. you on the other hand seem to be deaf and have impaired grammar.
no offense is intended, I'm just curious

edit: i mean deaf, not blind
when i said a blind client, i meant deaf

anyway yeah i spoke to him just the other day and he was completely deaf, but could still write and speak fine. i think theres something wrong with furling

American Sign Language has different grammar than English.

I've talked with 2 or 3 deaf people I've met from Reddit and their English is fine

he is 40 years old and has been deaf since birth. how has he not learned proper grammar by now?

Okay. Some people can learn different grammar better than others.

I would imagine that education was different 30 years ago than it is now. We have certainly gotten better at special needs. Additionally, he has gotten along fine without it clearly. There really isn't a lot of motivation or need for him to get better.

He uses the internet quite a bit, it seems. I would think if he browses the English speaking internet enough that he'd learn the grammar rules over time or at least try to improve them so what he says to others is more intelligible. Also the fact that even if education was different 30 years ago he could take like an English course online with Duolingo and work on his grammar, there are free resources for this stuff now.

He has worked on his grammar though. It's not even that bad. I am pretty much always able to understand what Furling says.

I just looked at his posts on his old account from 2011 and I hardly see a change from now.

Our daily dose of Facebook pictures, prescribed by our favorite doctor. Thanks, doc!

I will never understand why Furling posts chain Facebook posts. That's why we have actual Facebook. Furling being deaf is no excuse for acting dumbed down.
