Author Topic: Blockland Turmoil Progress  (Read 3439 times)

It's not dead. Here's some images in no order.

Brickcount is more than 30000

Over 100 bots, due to me kinda spamming the zombies.

WIP

Expect a playable demo/early version to come out eventually.

In a nutshell it's an adventure story (think of half life) with an iffy plot about blockland's future. Everything is still subject to change. Based on estimates if the player was the size of a normal human, the map would be around one mile long. It's not a straight line though, there's loops and curves and teleports and jumps so it feels longer.

It will be packaged as a gamemode and all required addons will be packaged inside the gamemode, so it will be plug and play.

Glad to see it's still being worked on.

Sweet, happy to see you didn't just scrap it and never come back to it.

Ohh yeahh
Can't wait for release

100 bots can lag on older machines.
You know that, right?

Looks likes the alpha of Silent Hill.

I know, I'm trying to figure out a way to achieve this without disaster, but the top priority is to at least finish the build/story to a playable level. If only... you know... there was more actual support for map sized builds...

holy stuff... Niceee... cant wait to own some noobs.

Just some notes ill throw out there.

It looks like i'm gonna need to split it up into episodes, which i wanted to avoid. I don't really have a choice because this is probably gonna be big. I might be able to still have it in one single gamemode and just salvage some code from the rampage gamemode or the speedkart gamemode to load the episodic builds.

I removed big parts from the old/original build, including that weird time travel segment and that noob dimension thing. Basically that noob area was sopposed to be another dimension, not actual noobland, but people did not understand so i just removed that altogether. The REAL noobland will still be a thing, though.

I lost the save to episode two but I remember what i built pretty much exactly. So I'll still have the concepts I had for episode two in there (im gonna build the entire build as one piece then ill cut it up into separate saves.)

I need to know what rotondo's avatar looks like.

The story takes place in the future. But not in the far future. Around 20 - 40 years from now maybe. (its just a story, you guys. i don't actually think any of this would happen)

The terrain is gonna be blocky and low quality, as you have seen in the images (though it really doesn't look half bad to me...)

Any questions/concerns/what the forget is this?

literally all he said was "please change the textures blah :)" he has not insulted me in any way, i don't want to turn this into another drama topic, okay?
