Author Topic: The Gun Debate - Ye or Ne? - All these Government topics  (Read 10168 times)

IMO, firearms should be owned by a group or a militia, and not individuals, and those groups/militias must show who's in it, what firearms they possess(and how many), and must have some sort of symbol(or something) for easy identification by a law enforcement official that must be displayed openly by members if they are carrying a firearm, and members must also carry some type of ID or form signed by a group leader or official to prove they're in the group, and what status they have. My ideas about it go a lot deeper than just this, but that's the gist of how I think it should be done.

Add an "Other - Please post below" option please. There are some opinions that may not fit with either option(such as mine) per se.

in other news: militia membership rises 30000%, experts still trying to figure out why

once again: god forbid people want to have fun, defend themselves, or eat

It's a thread for debate, and that's his and my argument too lol

my parents are VERY anti-gun, i'm the only pro-gun person in my entire house

I honestly think if we banned guns, there would be a big outrage and most common people could be easily attacked by someone with a gun.

i think the country would be much better if we had no guns. however this is a fiction. if the government just comes out and bans guns, it will create a black market, similar to drugs. guns should be legal because there is no way to take them from people. you can either create a black market or have a regulated product.

i think the only reason guns are needed is to protect against other guns. if we just didnt have them in the first place it would be a lot better.

While I dont think literally EVERYONE should have a firearm, why can't we treat it in the same fashion as getting a drivers licence? Education first, permit second. It will allow people to actually KNOW what the the forget they are carrying in their hands. At the same time, it makes it plausible for people to obtain if they want a firearm.

Sure, people will get hurt. Just like a car. There is absolutely NO way we can 100% prevent harm coming from firearms. People will obtain these things illegally no matter what. You can't even get 90%. But the best way to keep casualties down is (ironically) have someone armed with good will to eliminate the person causing ill harm.

this is a compromise I can get behind, because while I support gun ownership I think there are some people who just shouldn't own guns
