Author Topic: Constructive Criticism  (Read 645 times)

Hello. I just wanted to tell people, that in the gallery if people ask for feedback to use constructive criticism. The thing to keep in mind when doing so is, do not rate the build for what it is, rate it for what it's supposed to be.

Example: Somebody makes a plain, simplistic small one room house. Another person replies and say that it is not good because it doesn't have a whole lot of details or because it is small, even though it is supposed to be a small house.

Example 2: Someone posts a boat in gallery. If the 'boat' is a few boxes floating on water with a little shack on top, feel free to tell them that it doesn't look like a boat since it is apparently supposed to be one but doesn't look much like one, nicely though so they know to improve.

This should probably clear some things up for a few people.

Okay.... Yea I agree, but that doesn't mean someone can say ew to your build after their criticism. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE TOO, you should have that there is no need for the ew :L

Shouldn't this be in gallery?

Shouldn't this be in gallery?
well it's not showing off a blockland creation, so my guess is no :I

If it's related to gallery it should be posted in gallery.

But whatever.

do not rate the build for what it is, rate it for what it's supposed to be.
I'm pretty sure the whole reason of rating a build is that you're scoring how well it is made, not "what it is supposed to be".
To be honest though, this is pretty handicapped and un-needed.
