Just to end this silly discussion, the south is fine, although a common stereotype that happens to ring true more often than not is that they tend to lean torwards being more conservative, christian, and possibly tribal. This stereotype does not define the entire south, and there will always be starfishs everywhere.
My time spent in the Philippines has left me numb to most harassment, and I doubt anything anyone can ever do will ever irk me more than a slight irritation, I have been pushed down stairs, I've had guns and knives pulled on me. I've had people hate me simply because I'm american "and i don't belong here". People I considered family turned against me. A country itself seems to have wanted me dead at a few points. I became friends with very few people, simply because they treated me like a decent human being, no different from the rest. My race didn't mean anything to them, and that's why we became friends.
However, even with this experience, I still know that there are good people in the Philippines, even though they're much farther and wider inbetween. But there are, and the same goes with the south. No matter where you go, there will be 'good' people and 'bad' people
so can you guys stfu about this. as interesting a discussion as this is, this thread is no place to argue stereotypes
