Author Topic: Noah and Son of God  (Read 3930 times)

all these pasty white boys tryin to play dark-skinned middle eastern characters. dunno bout you guys but i think i missed the part of the bible that said it took place in europe and anywhere where you'd find pale people.

I think you should ease off the social-justice accelerator a bit. Realize that most of Biblical media is inspired by Biblical artwork, which is usually depicted as Caucasian (because most of it was painted by Caucasians). There is a cultural explanation for this that isn't DIGGIDY DARN WHITE PEOPLE

Also do you think it's appropriate at all to refer to a group of people as 'pasty white boys'? Surely it would be considered offensive to refer to a group of people with dark complexion as 'ashy black boys'? Just a thought.

isn't Son of God just the entire television showing compiled into one?

shouldn't they be more... arabic looking?
only white people are in the bible silly

yo bud i was joking. if i were serious, i would've used proper spelling and word usage. also, i'm rarely serious when i'm referring to sjw matters. take a look at my previous posts and you'll get a good idea of what i mean by that.

i fully realize that biblical media is based off of biblical artwork. however, biblical artwork is wrong because native middle eastern people are not caucasian or pale. slapping a big beard on a white man and telling him to grow his hair out =/= an accurate middle eastern representation.

god made mankind into his own imag. jesus was obv a WHITE MAN so that means anyone who isn't white isn't a human. fact. i'm a historian

My apologies, I misinterpreted. I wasn't debating the inaccuracy of the racial portrayal in the films, just giving an alternate explanation.

There's literally no war here. You're the only one claiming there is. This kind of attitude sparks wars.

Why are you so scared of it anyway? It's an internet forum, debate is nothing to be so stuff-scared of, unless you're scared of being wrong and/or incapable of holding intelligent debate. in which case lol@u (grow up)

Nobody's "scared". Carolcat was obviously joking (or half joking, whatever) and you kind of seemed like you were marching in to establish a counter argument.

Let's just not go any further. I am not accusing anyone of anything.

I watched Noah. I liked the rock things and the part when all the animals came.

You certainly seem apprehended at the idea of internet debate. There is absolutely nothing wrong with debate. There was no reason to believe carolcat was being satirical, lack of grammar is a common archetype in arguments to give off a disposition of adamancy. Don't convict me of war-mongering when I'm simply having an intelligent debate. Heat doesn't have to be added to the equation. I mean, congratulations, this argument is already personal and more heated than any argument with carolcat would've possibly manifested into. If you're not going to engage in either side of an argument it's probably best to just stay out of it altogether, no?

This always happens. I like debate, I learn from debate. It opens minds, but it always seems to end with me justifying debate. Ugh.
