Audio Jack On Laptop Not Working, I have to jiggle the headphone plug

I have a Compaq Presario CQ57, ive had it for about 1 year it was working perfectly untill a couple of days ago when i couldn't hear outta my headphones, i then jiggled the headphone plug and it worked for about 1 second, then it went off, and on, and of, and on, how do i fix this? please help

you usually have to find the "working spot" for it, whether it's more out or in the hole, and whether it's turned more left or right

I have tested these headphones in my ipod touch, and my phone and it works perfectly, so it must be the jack

try pushing it in more, that may work
