Author Topic: Tony Stewart hit and killed a fellow racer at a local track  (Read 6791 times)

Thats not funny. He severely wrecked his car, broke his neck, and burned. He then died in the ambulance.
Who are you talking about here? The guy who was hit today got out of his car before being hit and taken to the hospital, so I don't think he broke his neck.

If you're talking about Kevin Ward Sr, I googled him and saw nothing about him or his death so idk

Quit being a stuffrichard
Are you kidding me? The first word you said when posting in this thread was "yay", why don't you quit being a stupid hypocrite

Wow, this was very surprising when I heard about it

Hes talking about Earnhardt Sr.

It was yay for a different reason. I don't like NASCAR but my condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. But I originally I wrote "Quit being a stuffrichard to all whose opinions are different from yours." But I figured that would get me flamed, as usual.

Hes talking about Earnhardt Sr.
Oh, oops. I only looked at the quote he was replying to,  my mistake

It was yay for a different reason.

and that reason was basically that nascar would be over since a single driver is in a scandal

do you realize how loving disrespectful that is to the victim? or do you just have autism?

My thoughts are with Ward's family, but he was loving crazy to walk out onto the track like that.

Ward's impact with the ground probably broke his neck, if not fractured his skull. After seeing the video, I knew it was basically over. No one survives a hit from a sprint car.

Please read my earlier posts, sir. Also, you cut out the part of that quote that you got mad at me for not saying. Also, how is it disrespectful to the victim? It has nothing to do with him or his family.

i have no loving clue what you're saying here, i'm mad at you for you saying
Yay! No more NASCAR!
when someone died, and i've read all your earlier posts, they're not helping your case

I should have worded that better. I meant to say that I said in that post "My condolences to the victim's family and friends..." Also, what are you talking about? What case and what's happening I'm so confuzzled!

you can say that guy's life drifted past
Is it bad that I laughed my ass off in this thread?

Did you read what I quoted? And then read what he was talking about?
He made a joke about Earnhardt Sr.s death

Quote
A video of the incident shows two cars coming out of a turn with Stewart's No. 14 car sliding up the track toward Ward's No. 13 car. The two cars get close and appear to make contact before Ward's car hits the wall and spins out. Another car narrowly avoids hitting the 13 car as its sits on the track facing the wrong direction.
Ward gets out of his crashed car, walking on the track toward the race cars, which had slowed for a yellow flag. Ward points a finger and appears to be yelling. One car swerves to avoid Ward on the half-mile dirt track.
Stewart's car passes close to Ward, and it appears that its right rear tire hits him.

What Tony Stewart did is awful, but I don't think all the blame can be blamed on him. The dude got out of his car, walked on the track TOWARDS the other cars, and pointed fingers at the cars. One car swerved out of Wards way, which was probably lucky, and then Tony Stewarts right tire hit him, which I think may or may not have been Tony's fault. I don't know, I wasn't there.

Well actually, I go to dirt races two sometimes three times a week and it's actually quite often that drivers get out of their cars and go on the track to show their displeasure. And Stewart actually could have avoided hitting him if he didn't step on the gas. When you hit the gas in a sprint car the car's natural movement is to fishtail or go sideways. Not stepping on the gas would have allowed him to just roll the car past the guy. But of course Tony Stewart being the hothead he is had to do that and it resulted in tragedy.

Sprint cars are 800+ HP and basically can only be steered via pressing down on the throttle and swerving. Not stepping on the gas probably would have resulted in Stewart hitting Ward anyway. You may also notice another car almost hit Ward on the same exact racing line Stewart took. Stewart obviously didn't deliberately hit him, but he likely attempted to get around the turn and just forgeted it up. Regarding the infamous rev up, most people don't realize the most commonly circulated video was taken from across the track and the noise of engines revving could easily have come from a nearby car.

All in all, Ward forgeted up just as much as Stewart did. They are both to blame. You should NEVER get out of your vehicle in a dirt race like that, no matter how common it is.
