My computers internet is being a jew, help please.

Right so about a week ago my internet started slowing down like a bitch. Usually from my computer I would get about 20+Mb/s download speed and around 10ish upload speed according to speedtest.net. Now, well, im not. This is a speedtest I just took.


Right so I just need some help trying to figure out what the problem is. I have already done a bit of searching around for a solution, and im still stumped. I've done a speedtest on ALL my other devices (Two other laptops, 3 iphones) and they all get around 20Mb/s download speed. So its not my internet. I've scanned my computer for viruses, I'm clean. I've tried different browsers, and I get the same results.

Im tempted to go to the store and buy a new USB Internet Adapter, because perhaps mine has gone to stuff. But before I do that, is there anything else I can try to do to fix this?

Can an ISP throttle a computer? Would they not have to throttle the entire connection? Because all my other devices are fine.

Its wireless. But I've done speedtests on a bunch of other stuff and my internet is fine. Thats why Im thinking it could just be my Internet Adapter, because I've had it for years.

My wifi is locked. I do torrent things but nothing illegal.

The router is next to the microwave, but my internet is like this constantly throughout the day, and we hardly even touch the microwave.

Some ISPs monitor torrenting and will throttle your speed if you torrent too many movies/songs/whatever. Though I've only personally heard of it happening on one occasion, so I don't know.

they monitor the fact that you are uploading a ton to anything at all. and they cut you back.

they dont determine WHAT you are doing and change things accordingly. especially if its legal or not.
if that were the case, illegal downloaders would have their internet completely disabled.
