i dont get it
he's basically beating the whole "same game different name!" joke into the ground

it's the game that started the whole stufffest in the first place anyway

Not really. If we're being completely honest the first "bad" call of duty was 3. Go play it. The "close combat" quicktime event thing was the biggest bullstuff ever. Also the multiplayer was BEYOND awful.

then there was MW. then there was WaW which was better. then MW2 came along and everything went to stuff after that. Infinity ward basically repackaged the same game for six years and treyarch had fun.

The multiplayer is a loving over powered kill fest.

Prepubescent kids will be all over this.

The multiplayer actually seems pretty interesting.

Sad thing is, if they literally just cut "call of duty" off the title, nobody would even be complaining.

No. It is still an overused, over-milked game series that has anything hardly new. I'm sticking with my Battlefield because multiplayer isn't a forget fest all of the time.

Power suits that let you be strong, jump high, and turn invisible? Sweet finally something orig-

the driving scene looks pretty cool, though it's probably 80% scripted sequences.
The sounds sound like they've been funnled through a tube for ear blasting mids and treble sound.

The animations in the cutscenes are very impressive.

Are you so far strapped into the hate bandwagon that you actually believe this? They're very obviously making an active effort to try and add new content. Sure, some of the mechanics are the same. They still have killstreaks and hitmarkers. It is still, infact, a first person arcade shooter.

They've added lasers (new weapon mechanic), new environmental mechanics (breaking glass, tsunamis), new movement mechanics (vertical exploration, rocket jumping), customization, a general change in combat mechanics (like invisibility). None of this stuff is exactly game-changing or revolutionary, you're allowed to not like it for whatever reason you want, but to say that there's "hardly anything new" is just a lump of hatewagon garbage.

And yeah, the thing about the 'over-milked game series'?

It would still be an over milked game series because the name change won't change the content.

They are making an active effort to make eye candy so they can get money. They don't give a stuff about the content, they just want you to throw money at them.

They've added lasers (new weapon mechanic) gee loving lasers! Amazing. New technology!, new environmental mechanics (breaking glass, tsunamis)Breaking glass? Sounds like a thing that has been in all games, including the older COD. If you are talking about the 'pressure' breaking glass, sure, coolio. Almost like the fish AI to be honest. The tsunami in the gameplay video was a loving joke. It would've loving wrecked the whole map, including kill the guys., new movement mechanics (vertical exploration, rocket jumping) aka more happy happy unfair gun gun shoot shoot. amazing. didn't see that at all in Titanfall, customization is that a joke?, a general change in combat mechanics (like invisibility) totally not what we see in Halo! Nope! Super innovative, absolutely fair as well.. None of this stuff is exactly game-changing or revolutionary, you're allowed to not like it for whatever reason you want, but to say that there's "hardly anything new" is just a lump of hatewagon garbage. The whole point about the "hardly anything new" is the fact that they spend no time, like you said yourself, adding game-changing and revolutionary ideas. It is getting overused and it is unplayable anymore. I don't see why people just throw money at them every single loving YEAR.

it's sad that I can't have any opinion in this entire argument because I can only run the first two games
the third was console only and starting from the fourth I can't run any of them

roughly my feelings so far

It would still be an over milked game series because the name change won't change the content.
It wouldn't be part of the game series if there was no Call of Duty franchise tied to it. Call of Duty is literally a brandname that's garnered hate and will unfortunately establish hate for a game regardless of whatever the forget they do to try and innovate it.

No. I've played all of the COD games after MW2, and stuff when loving down after Black Ops. They are making an active effort to make eye candy so they can get money. They don't give a stuff about the content, they just want you to throw money at them.
A corporation selling a product for money? loving despicable, absolutely abhorrent. How dare anyone do anything not in the personal interest of my entertainment?

Hate to break it to you, but developers don't create games because they love you and want to make you happy. They do it to make profit. They have developed a formula for maximizing said profit, and it works. Improving the graphics and visual aesthetic of a game is one of these formulas.

gee loving lasers! Amazing. New technology!
Yeah, gee! An entirely new form of projectile which comes with entirely new implications of use in the field of combat! I'm a condescending prick with nothing to show for it!

Breaking glass? Sounds like a thing that has been in all games, including the older COD. If you are talking about the 'pressure' breaking glass, sure, coolio. Almost like the fish AI to be honest. The tsunami in the gameplay video was a loving joke. It would've loving wrecked the whole map, including kill the guys.
The point being is that they have made an effort to work towards a dynamic environment. This is a step up from broken glass bullet-hole decals. The environment is less static and now bends towards the players interactions with it. Fish AI, while not a big deal at all, is still an innovative and immersion element that they added without having a reason to. They didn't have to do it, but they still did it, because they thought it might be pretty cool. This is good development.

Yeah, having a wave kill everyone on the map because "muh realism" sounds like tons of fun. Please don't make video games.

aka more happy happy unfair gun gun shoot shoot. amazing. didn't see that at all in Titanfall,
Maybe you're just bad at handling the mechanic? Maybe Modern Warfare is more your style.

is that a joke?
Are you a joke?

totally not what we see in Halo! Nope! Super innovative, absolutely fair as well.
Remember kids, if someone else has done it before and it worked, don't do it. That would make too much sense. Make sure everything you do is 100% original gangster content or gtfo

You know, reality only has so many human-comprehensible concepts. Sledgehammer cannot tap into the 4th dimension for a ultra-existence concept that has never before been used in a combat game.

The whole point about the "hardly anything new" is the fact that they spend no time, like you said yourself, adding game-changing and revolutionary ideas. It is getting overused and it is unplayable anymore. I don't see why people just throw money at them every single loving YEAR.
So what exactly are they supposed to make now? Dinosaurs? They've gone to space and back trying to appease everyone's satiety for ""original content"" (the thing they never, ever actually define) and when they do actually spill out something they think is original and it gets implemented (i.e. future) everybody just takes it for granted and goes back to complaining about the same stuff to look elitist.

Meanwhile, Battlefield 3: Brown comes out. Gets renamed to Battlefield 4. Everyone loves it.

Everyone loves it.
news to me
then again i've been spoiled by Titanfall so i'm probably incapable of enjoying any normal go-slo shooter now
