either i was pranked, or i witnessed my brother murder someone via walkie talkie

so a little recap:
yesterday my brother handed me a walkie talkie because he wanted to test a pair he bought recently. my brother has his away from home, and i have mine in my room
today i got home from school to hear the walkie talkie going off. like making call noises and making that certain sound where you can tell someones holding the button down but for some reason not talking. i wasn't really thinking much of it cause my brother eventually did the whole, "1 2 3 testing testing" thing. after that, it was silence for a long while. by the time it started going off again, my brother was gone. he left and took the walkie talkie with him, so i was kinda weirded out by the fact static and that button sound was coming out. no voice, just the button being held down, let go again, static, repeat.

i started to notice voices, and thats what really caught my attention because they were not my brother, or anyone hed be hanging out with. and they weren't really saying anything too stuff was muffled. like it was if someone was struggling to push down on the talk button, would catch it for a second but then forced off, but you could just tell it was two women. almost sounded like they were fighting.

then silence. then some broken sounds.

then, this is my best interpretation of what happened next. (text from the video i recorded of this entire ordeal) cut*- signifying them taking their finger off the talk button

"HELP MEEE -static- EE -static-" cut

"help me... im doing -static- -static-" cut

"inaudible" cut

"ha ha ha ha ha"

"why wont anyone help me"

And he's deffo pranking you. The fact that those specific words of any of them were the ones that went through are just too obvious, unless you live in a bad thriller movie.

The fact that all the phrases towards the end were crystal clear, and the earlier ones were choppy, was proof that they (your brother and his friend) were working up the nerve to go through with it.

one time me and my friends were around the woods near his house just exploring and stuff, and most of us had walkie talkies. not all of us, so we had to share. it wasnt near a neighborhood, but there were houses scattered about around the area. anyway so we had found this awesome tree with a hole in it and decided to make a little fort. some time later, when 2 of my friends were out looking for some good hiking sticks we heard some really weird creepy noises (we were all on the same channel) there was this really weird beeping that seemed to be in a pattern  which got faster and faster, and after that it just faded and was harder to hear. we all heard it, and i still think back and cant even decide what it could have been.

How far were you from roads and such?

It's not impossible for certain walkie-talkie's to pick up police transmissions if they're on the same frequency, which sometimes they can be (the frequencies aren't all the same for all police stations nor all walkie talkies).
