I made this build for gaming mainly, but not huge gaming like Crysis on shaders. More for games like Blockland+shaders, Garry's Mod, and Minecraft.

Blockland+S, without lagging every time I look at a build with more than 100 bricks.
Garry's Mod, without lagging whenever I do something. No matter what it is.
Minecraft, without lagging constantly whenever I go on Normal Terrain mode. And only being able to do flatland barely.

Is it good for any of these things? What should I replace?

You're spending more on a CPU than you are on a GPU... That isn't really a good thing as far as I know. You should either get a slightly better GPU or tone down on the CPU

or just tone up on the gpu completely. 740 isnt exactly a fine piece of work
oh wait i misread your reply i thought you said "and tone down on the cpu". nevermind

:-(

Changed the CPU.

Here is a list of all the compatible CPUs currently.

You don't really need a cpu cooler unless your Overclocking, also I'd stay away from Gigabyte Motherboards, last two I had died on me quick, one from a bad capacitor, the other one just died for an unknown reason, I know its related to the bios failing to load though.

This.

Why not go for a AMD A10 Instead, I heard they work better, I mean the FX series uses the old AM3+ socket.

I have had a A8 for years and it has never failed on me.

whats going on. the 4130 you have in your link is like 75 dollars but in that pic its 102 dollars
sweet deal man, take it

wait theres two of them? why whats the difference. why is one significantly cheaper?

Deleted the CPU cooler from list...

Your prolly right about the mother board.

Never knew the Fx series didn't ship with a cooler, all the A-# series ship with a stock cooler.

you didnt include a HDD or PSU so im assuming you already own those

4gb should be enough, clocked higher than 1600
cheaper monitor same resolution but 2 inches smaller
a lot better gpu, cpu im not sure, probably
build about 200 cheaper

anyone agree? disagree?

if you can spend up to 700 you can push to a better gpu than that

err, I have the FX 4130 and did come with a cooler

Try this.

What softwareswap is:

Quote
Note: All my parts lists use a copy of Windows 8 (you can use 7 instead but 8 is faster) from /r/softwareswap, which is usually $10.
This can save you about $80. People at /r/softwareswap are a part of the Microsoft Developers Network and get free windows 8 keys. They sell them for about $10. In order to use it you simply have to install windows 8 on a USB flash drive and input the key you've bought when it asks for it. The people there are very nice and trustworthy and transactions are very fast through paypal.

GT 740? wtf?
get a gtx 760, or a R9 270x. Theyre cheap and good.
also, get a 2TB HDD and a MSi 970A-G46 motherboard.

get a 2TB HDD
Don't do this, you'll never need more than 1TB

Why would you spend more on the CPU cooler than the CPU itself
Just get the cheapest one
Also that optical drive is expensive wtf
Do you even need a blu-ray drive? I spent $20 on a dvd drive and never use it except to install OSs. Even if you do watch a lot of blu-ray moveis, there are much cheaper ones available

but not huge gaming like Crysis on shaders.
Crysis isn't the "standard" for benchmarking anymore; any modern hardware can run it fine, and sequels haven't gone crazy over the top like the first one
That title belongs to (I believe) BF4

that is incredibly subjective
