Author Topic: I have a $700 to build a computer, I need help. A bunch of it.  (Read 1919 times)

well the box says its better so........................... ...............

Intel is better than AMD structure wise. AMD can give around the same power but for much less. Just isn't as efficient.

I think thats the case, I'm not sure.

I have much more trust regarding Intel, but I fear that it may be due to their extensive marketing campaign. Either way I've never experienced a single problem with either.

What softwareswap is:

Note: All my parts lists use a copy of Windows 8 (you can use 7 instead but 8 is faster) from /r/softwareswap, which is usually $10.
This can save you about $80. People at /r/softwareswap are a part of the Microsoft Developers Network and get free windows 8 keys. They sell them for about $10. In order to use it you simply have to install windows 8 on a USB flash drive and input the key you've bought when it asks for it. The people there are very nice and trustworthy and transactions are very fast through paypal.

Can you rate this? Price to performance x/5. Would this be able to run "next gen" games on high-ish settings?

buy blockland gold with that much money.

its a great custom build but you should replace that motherboard with something from MSi, try a 970A
also the price is fine too.

Can you guys just stop this joke?

Anyways I got another build here

Same as my other post Price to performance.

price 4/5, performance 5/5. I recommend getting a seagate 2TB, its only a couple of dollars more

Do not buy AMD unless you're going budget.

Tower:

CPU: i5 4460
RAM: Mushkin 8GB
GPU: GTX-750 Ti
PSU: 500W SeaSonic 80 Plus Bronze Certified
Mobo: ASUS Z87
Case: Cooler Master Storm Scout II
HDD: WD Red 1TB

Peripherals:

Mouse: Razer DeathAdder Black Edition
Keyboard: WASD or DAS
Monitor: Samsung

should be within your price range, kinda busy right now else I'd build an actual wishlist

do not get MSi motherboards, they have very high failure rates and there's a ~50% chance it'll be DoA when you take it out of the box

8 gb ram and buy AMD DO NOT BUY INTEL. Also save 200 bucks and total legally posses a windows 7 operating system. *cough* legally *cough*
get a 64 bit comp
I recommend for the processor a Amd fx 6300 six core processor 4.20 ghz. runs so nice and was reasonably priced. I made my gaming comp for 500$ and it plays bf4 on max settings
you make me laugh. intel processors are much more genuine and integrative than amds. also, the amd fx series is extremely overrated. i can't give you a build because i know nothing about computer parts... but that.

this is inaccurate, intel's CPUs are far more powerful while AMDs are cheaper and typically use less power

this is why I never recommend AMD unless you're on a tight budget and/or want to squeeze in some ridiculous graphics card without breaking the bank

Gotta remember too that when you pick either intel or AMD, You have to make sure you have a motherboard that supports the socket. PCPartPicker does it automatically, but any other way you have to make sure.

Also, I know that people look at AMD and see that it has more cores for a cheaper price.
