if you ever have this problem in the future give PNGGuantlet a try, its a free .png compressor that doesn't degrade quality

yeah, that's what I used

for animated gifs, I suggest http://ezgif.com/optimize
it's lossy though, and you may have to do a lot of trial and error to get it to work
