In middle school I became friends with this dude and he got me into thievery. We'd basically break in to lockers and steal phones/iPods etc, or pickpocket backpacks. He was great at breaking into locks and I was great at being a pickpocket, so we made a great team. I'd take hall passes and electronics out of people's backpacks while they were walking without them noticing, then we'd sell them the passes for 50c a pop. I was basically known as the blackmarket hall pass and get out of homework free card distributor. He got caught taking a teacher's phone and arrested, so that's when I figured out I should probably cut it off with him. A couple years after we had a dispute and got in a fist fight.
I'd say we stole a total of 4 iPods (none of which we touches because those were hardly out at the time), roughly 10 flip phones, and many earbuds. Another reason I cut if off with him was because he wasn't being fair and sold a few phones without telling me or splitting with me.
oh and if anyone's wondering how I opened up backpacks and looted them without them knowing, I'd do it at the back of the lunch line, or in huge crowds where you can be very fast and sloppy without them knowing, cause of the pushing and shoving. This was my favorite method.
After having a mega rep of being a pickpocket, it took about three years until I was even semi-trusted to stand near people. Basically standing near people would cause them to check their pockets and backpacks.
