Terrapins
shortened to terps
I'm not even gonna ask why they decided to go TerXXpXXX to create the short version instead of terras or something.

probably because terras sounds super handicapped

probably because terras sounds super handicapped

I still don't see what's wrong with Terrapins. It doesn't need to be shortened.

Also; IMO Terps sounds five times as handicapped as Terras. Maybe that's because Terra is an actual word and Terras is the plural of it, and Terp isn't a word and sounds extremely odd to say.

Oh no! I've got the terp.

That feeling when you don't smoke but everyone else you meet does.
That feel when you pretty much have to be a stoner to make friends.

You don't have to be a stoner. Just as long as you're fine with people smoking around you, just be like 'Nah dude I'm good' when they hand you the blunt. You don't even have to touch it, they'll pass it for you. People might give you stuff for not smoking, but nobodys gonna be like 'You don't smoke so I won't be friends with you.'

If you need an excuse, tell them you have monthly random drug tests.

Why should he have to tip-toe around the idea that he doesn't want to smoke? Is there something inherently wrong with just saying, "Nah, I don't smoke."?

He doesn't have to. That's why I said "if you need an excuse." I gave him something to say that pretty much universally stoners will accept just in case he felt weird about not smoking.

You don't have to hang with stoners. I just hang with people I know from old classes and my friends from high school.

After three years, I wish I could just take the classes that relate to my major. Instead I'm stuck dealing with the schools bullstuff money making ways of "So you want a degree, well you have to take this useless stuff like human loveualities, symbolic logic, history of art, music appreciation, and other classes that you will probably forget about in one year!"

I've been asked if I smoke cause I think they'd ask me to come with but I say no, and no one's gonna ask you to come with them just to watch them smoke lol

Got lucky last year lol, I was roomed with a guy who I'd play league and talk about anime with at 4am.
T'was fun, but the majority of people I see seem to have smoking as their main hobby. Doesn't help that I live in some of the poorer accommodations down in the city this year.

Oh... you are in dorm. I just go a community college.

I don't smoke, tobacco nor cannabis, but I've had friends who've smoked both.
And when they go on a cigarette break, which they inevitably do, I just say I'll tag along, or if they ask if I smoke, or want a smoke, I'll say "Nah, but I'll join you out there" (which is usually understandable, compared to staying behind on your own).

If they're going to a smoking shelter or stood outside, then they're usually perfectly fine with you standing a few steps away, and my friends have always been quick to move and accommodate me if their smoke is being blown towards me (I've never even had to ask).

And while smokers tend to regularly smoke because they have to, it's also a social thing. You're still friends with them, so you can still chat and have a natter, like normal. It won't just be a case of you watching them smoke. They take breathes in between puffs, so they still speak.
If you can put up with the smell, and occasionaly being subject to some second-hand smoke, then you should just join your friends if they go to smoke.
