Nevermind that it's a felony.

Pfff. Every time the fire alarm goes off here I just ignore it. The RAs don't come to check.

I've even ignored this blaring alarm with some chicks voice going 'PLEASE EVACUATE THE BUILDING. A THREAT HAS BEEN REPORTED AND IS CURRENTLY BEING VERIFIED. PLEASE USE THE STAIRS TO EXIT, NOT THE ELEVATOR.' on repeat.

It's actually really stuffty because if a real fire does happen I'm totally going to be barbequed.

So, how much additional time do you guys spend studying in a week, for each module?

According to my personal tutor, it's supposed to be 4 hours of additional study for every 1 hour of lecture, each week.
Which is nice when for some modules I have 4 hours of lecture a week, so by this rule should do 16 extra hours in the week.

I uh, don't think I'll be sticking perfectly to that rule.

Though I'm not a perfect student, I just get whatever work I need to done, and the night before an exam just cram whatever will fit in my head to "study" for it.

Worked for me in highschool, don't see why it won't work here.

The WASC rating is 2 hours of additional study per 1 hour unit.

So each unit should be 3 hours of work per week -- a 12 unit (usually minimum for full time) workload would be 36 hours a week of work. Colleges are actually expected to hold to this too, because if they don't they'll lose their WASC accreditation which is the equivalent of renaming your school to ITT Tech 2.

until next week when we get thrashed by ohio state

:(
this is true we're gonna get forgeted up and then everyone will get forgeted up that evening to get over it

P.S. still meaning to come by north campus and visit you at some point

i toured some cali schools this week (cal poly slo / uc davis / stanford / uc berkeley), and holy stuff football culture is huge isn't it
stanford runs all their fountains red during the Big Game against uc berkeley

the day i toured uc berkeley, they were having a game against the university of boulder and i got unnecessarily hype when they started winning. i give 0 stuffs about football what happened

I think I have the best Halls of Residence going.

Started off with a broken toaster.
Has no hot water in the Kitchen, a fault which the Estates/Accommodation department have failed to fix all week.
My shower unit has a leak in it's drain, meaning water pools underneath the lino. It probably leaks further downstairs in someone's flat/room.
Kitchen came with no washing up bowl or drying rack, yet other accommodation does. (Shared Bathroom halls all had such stuff, but mine, an ensuite hall, does not, despite me paying £20+ more a week for the hall).

Real talk I normally would not put that much effort but my floor is small enough that I know my residents by name. Also we had a student actually die last semester and I didn't want that on my name.

Do you have communal bathrooms/showers? Even as an RA I don't get my own stuffter.

People, even non-sports fans, get swept up in the "team" mentality.  Humans love backing a sports team and rallying with fellow fans.

I have my own en-suite bathroom, which is very small, but contains a toiler, shower, mirror and sink (with hot water).
I pay more than the other students in accommodation with shared bathrooms.

just got accepted to OCC up here in Michigan! i'm going to college dudessss

Lived in berkeley for 2+ years while my gf attended, its a fun school and probably one of the best schools to choose, I just really do not like the people. Like the actual berkeley natives, the hippies, are great friendly, environmentall concious, would share a joint with you if you saw them smoking in public. Everything you could want. The students are pricks. Most of them. They do not share the same sense of responsibility or care for the world, but they feel because they go to a "liberal" school they are allowed to raise stufffits about things they really dont give a forget about but want to appear that they give a forget in order to seem more "liberal" to their friends, and none of these people actually pay attention to their behviour as they toss their tenth starbucks of the day, served in plastic, into a trashcan instead of the recycling bin less than a foot away.

The food in berkeley though, wow, it makes it worth all the jerks. If you end up choosing that school you're going to get fat from all the good food.
