Would it be possible to free the mouse while typing a chat message?

Would this be possible? And if it is possible, could someone make it?
It's quite annoying when you make a mistake while typing out an eval command and need to use arrow keys to get to your mistake and correct it- it takes FOREVER.

The worst is when i accidently press the home key which is right next to my backspace key, the home key automatically makes my bar go to the start of the message, so i have to spam the right key to get back, along with fixing the mistake i had occured.

if you accidentally press the home key you can press the down arrow and then the up arrow key to get to the end of the line

The mouse works randomly when typing a chat message. I have no idea what the conditions are for it, but sometimes it appears, letting you move the cursor and even select text.

no? it's never done that for me. maybe if you press M before the chat button without noticing it, that will happen, but it doesn't normally

See "sometimes" part of that message. It happens once in a blue moon for me.

If you press a modifier key (ctrl or alt) then press M while typing, the cursor will appear. Sometimes this fails to work, which is annoying.
