I'm sure a lot of things have "been around since the dawn of man" but that doesn't make them the status quo.
Roughly 1% of Americans identify as gay or bi.
It's a very small minority. Even if it's been around for a long time.
How dense do you have to be to conflate "has been around forever" with "is the norm"?

Gays aren't universally detested. There's plenty of places these days where it's perfectly okay to be gay. I don't have an issue with that. But I do have an issue with the oppression Olympics. Chances are if you go to any college/university in the north overt intolerance will be virtually non-existent.
