Author Topic: Blockland computer usage  (Read 2027 times)

This has been goin on for a while now, every time i turn my shaders on, i go to 10FPS. but when i look at my task manager it says im only using 4%. how can i dedicate more of the computers power to blockland, so it doesnt run so slowly?

you need a better gpu, not to allocate more of your processor.

but when i look at my task manager it says im only using 4%.

Task manager in windows only tells CPU usage, while shaders mostly use your GPU

Only using 7% GPU

What are your GPU specs?

Blockland's engine cannot ultilize your graphics card to its maximum potential, it is extremely processor intensive.

I don't think if it's intensive means it can't be used to maximum potential

The one on the left is CPU, the one on the right is GPU. CPU goes only around 33%, GPU had Memory usage 99% (/100%) the whole time even during ghosting and the GPU usage itself jerked around during ghosting, however went linear 99% (/100%). GPU is the bottleneck for Blockland in most cases.
Also I am 100% positive that it uses 7% GPU as OP says is a fail on his part. Use a program with actual GPU readings.

This is with shaders on, and lagging.

Yes, that says CPU usage is 4%.

Qualitative words like "very good" mean nothing when there's an inherent problem at hand. He needs a better GPU, or graphics card, to get better framerates. His CPU, or processor, is doing just fine. So is his RAM.

Look for a card with a score above 4,700 if you want to be able to run Blockland shaders on high.

Dude I think its all the stuff he has on it. he has great ram and a %2000 Graphics card.

State the actual GPU and try viewing the graphs on an actual GPU Usage checking software like MSI Afterburner (Not limited only to MSI cards - anything goes)
Also stop stating useless things. RAM is not relevant. Nor is CPU. Only instance when Blockland would not have enough of either would be if you ran on a toaster.
