Well if you see some guy shooting people who are screaming and trying to flee, then that is a sign.

If someone wearing is wearing all black, smashes your window and comes in your house with a crowbar that is also a sign.

this is basically what i said in the OP. i think the country would be better if it had no guns but you cant just ban something that 50% of people have and expect them to willingly give them up.

Weak guns?

Not exactly, bullets do not have magic killing properties. All a bullet is, is just a hunk of flying metal that damages organs by passing through them. Think of vital organs like a Heart or lung, even the brain. Also picture the bullet as an arrow from a bow or a knife. Some penetrate better than others, some do more damage than others. It depends of strength of the powder in the casing, the mass of the projectile, the speed at which it travels, and how it passes through a target.

One is made for civilian use, the other is made for military. They are both deadly. So basically as long as you can hit your target and strike an organ, you can kill just about everything.

If you thought a tiny .223/5.56 fired from an AR-15 is highly destructive, then you are mistaken. A shotgun is now weak gun. A shotgun does terrible damage from up close.

Personally I think it's fine (but still stupid) to own a handgun or shotgun or something like that for self defense, but anything military grade or more powerful than that should be illegal.

How handicapped can you be? The caliber of a bullet does not loving matter at all, Sure it'll do more damage but a gun is a gun, whatever caliber that gun fires is going through your body. It's gonna stop you in your tracks most likely, A .357 and a .22 are different calibers, both hurt and both kill. Theres no such thing as a "Weak" gun. They're all guns.

Military grade is a derivative of Civilian grade. Always has been and will always stem from the basics. The military uses handguns that are manufactured specifically for its troops, however operates the same and is even of the same power as its civilian counterpart.

What really irks me about people who try to argue guns is they set up these "categories" and "walls" trying to draw a line between guns and what makes them different. That area is so grey that even if there was a ban on lets say "military grade" weapons, their civilian counterpart with the exact same function will eventually be targeted also because someone got scared of its "incredible firepower" much the the "military grade" weapons.

The restriction on automatic firing modes being installed into these weapons however has a lot more sense behind it. I'm glad that its pretty difficult right now to get your hands on one of these. I feel that our nations sense of responsibility in each individual has declined to a degree. In turn this has made us more paranoid in our decisions and on things of dangerous capability that can be obtained. There's much more to this as well that i'd love to add just so i can make a point that its not JUST mentality and maturity that i'm worried about. However i do not have the time as of now.

i think it'd be good to restrict guns down to guns with low fire rates like revolvers. you can certainly defend your house from a robber with a revolver but it's not really an efficient shooting weapons since you can't just spray it and that they're loud as forget so everyone will be aware after the first shot
