Author Topic: CIA Jihadists behead US Journalist James Foley  (Read 4642 times)

In war there are always some necessary sacrifices to be made. They should keep bombing the forget out of CIA.

CIA kills thousands of Iraqi citizens and nobody panics.

But they kill one American and everyone loses their minds.
ok just

i think we've all established by now that the media has no regard for loss of human life unless it's american

the US should drop a nuclear bomb on these sand mondays

It's a terrible situation, and there are also a few other CIA-captured American journalists.

Maybe journalists shouldn't go to these sorts of warzones where terrorists are fighting.

Again, same as the Japanese fellow, you know the risks when you go there. I don't have sympathy for civilians who travel to these places (where the citizens of those nations are desperately trying to flee), when they do get caught and/or injured/killed.

Same with me. When people die doing crazy dangerous jobs we don't report it on national news and flip out.

Journalists have the right to report wherever they want, but I do think that many should have bodyguards or some sort of protection with them when they are in a high-threat zone.

LOL
US citizens have the right to own firearms, but I do think that they should have a police officer babysit them at all times so they don't do something stupid.

Every journalist ever, has known that if and when they go to a hot-zone, they may not come back. They do it out of choice. They aren't forced to go to another country, and if they were and they aren't okay with it, quit the job. If they want to stay safe, stay near the military. But there is no way in hell that any branch of the military is going to assign baby sitters to every single journalist. That's not their job.

It's tragic that Foley was captured and killed, but honestly, it's not because he didn't have a body guard. It's because he was in a hot zone CIA happened to be in. CIA is doing this for shock factor, to intimidate the US into responding, which results in more troops and munitions being sent in, and then we start all over again- everyone hates the US, get out.

Journalists don't have the right to report wherever they want. The whole world isn't America. You're not free to go where you please across the entire planet. People will gladly stop you from reporting from wherever you are.

But sure, as a human they have the right to choose to go where they want if they can.  But in the same way that anyone has the right to choose to go into a bank vault,  or cross a border, or into a strangers house, they have to face the consequences of doing so.

There are many countries that permit freedom of the press, yet they oppress those involved (journalists, reporters, etc). It's not just America that allows freedom of the press.

Will I get banned if I posted the real video?

I don't see why you'd be banned, does it have any gore in it or nudity? If it doesn't, then I think it's fine.

The presses job is to sell stories to bring attention toward something or to sell their point. Key word: sell

Want to bring attention to gun violence? Report more on gun violence indicents to create the illusion that the US has gone to stuff and we need gun control.

Want to bring attention toward auto safety? Report more on every vehicle accident to create the illusion that we either suck at driving or our cars are trying to kill us.

Want to bring attention toward crime in the us? Report more on every robbery, burglary, rape, homicide, and create headlines like "shocking statistics" to create illusion that things are worse than what they really are.

Want the US to get involved in a war? Report on all the atrocities committed by one side to portray them as the bad guys.
