Dude, you should come to St. Louis during a normal summer.

"Did you hear about the tornado damage a few blocks away?"

"Huh? There was a tornado?"

Yeah storms do get so routinely bad that no one would normally notice. On December 31, 2010, a tornado passed within one mile of my house and I never even noticed. If it hadn't been raining so hard, I would've seen it wayyyyyy too close to my house. It was EF0 though, so it wouldn't have even done much.

Edit: I also took this picture a couple years ago. This storm got me on my toes. Also note that this picture is completely unedited in any manner.

Its raining really heavy on the Canadian side of lake Huron right now along with lots of thunder

SF bay area and absolutely nothing happened where i live

Clear skies in Ocean City, MD

For me today it's just a crippling week-long heat wave. Pretty mild compared to other years, but we haven't had any this bad for 2014, with temps in the upper 90s right now and heat indices beyond 110.

Were under severe Thunderstorm watch now

apparently it never rains in orange cove (near the fresno area)

Its thundering bad here now.

its raining here in the DC area
i like it

Bump. Starting to storm now and the sky looks beautiful.

And for the finale, I (obviously completely by accident) captured the birth of a cloud-to-ground lightning strike here.

If you look in the top right corner, right where the second story of the house tried to photobomb my picture, you can see a whitish blue hue in the clouds shining outwards with faint rays. The bolt came out from the rays and struck somewhere about 1 mile to the northwest.

thunder was so loud in san diego I thought we were gettin nuked
