He's looking for excuses to not make FEZ 2. The reality is, he has no more creative ideas left, and he knows that. If he tried making it, it would suck by comparison. He's a one-hit-wonder indie dev and he's handling it in the worst way possible.

Phil is basically whoring for attention at this point, since he hates the industry but doesnt leave without having a stufffit and coming back later to whine more. What would Fez 2 even be about, anyways?

Everyone called it from day 1 of his breakdown. He would return and either continue Fez 2 and then spout stuff about how everyone is lucky that he even bothers to do this for them and that everyone should be thankful, or spout stuff about how everyone's not worth it and that's why he's not doing it.

But like dkamm said, it's just because he has no more ideas. He got way too confident because he had 1 successful game (I think it was pretty mediocre anyways) and announced a sequel to Fez way too quickly after the first one, causing him to get trapped into a corner, leading to his autistic breakdown. He's a total clown.

the difference between jontron and phil is that phils starfishry is directed at his fanbase and is a lot harsher than jontrons.  I would actually say jontron isnt an starfish, he just doesnt give a stuff about political correctness and thinks sjw's can shove it.

yeah he could have handled it better but hindshight is 20/20.  i think jon was just saying what he really felt and not giving a stuff what other people thought, which quite frankly is a pretty good strategy in a number of situations.
