So apparently, near Frankfurt, Germany, construction workers stumbled across a British bomb left over from World War II. Although they tried to DISARM it, they were forced to do a controlled detonation leaving a crater in the A3 portion of the Autobahn.

That doesn't look like a half ton bomb blast.

im no expert but im pretty sure the bombs not gonna be as powerful as it would've been 70 years ago

That doesn't look like a half ton bomb blast.

I imagine they would've buried the top over before detonating it.

i'll see you guys in the next life

OP you meant to put that they tried to disarm it but had to detonate it

Yeahhhh I'm stupid

That was not what I expected it to be.

I thought somehow the bomb detonated while the road was full of cars and stuff.

Well we can't have everything

Yeah that'd be awful

Some kid throws a polystyrene cup out of a car window and it vaporizes half of the loving road. Would be hilarious to see.

Next time it'll be their dams!

It doesn't look big in the picture, but the article says it blew a 65-foot crater in the road
It's not a nuclear bomb, just a "regular" (I know nothing about bombs so I don't know what to call it) bomb
And it's not 1100lb of TNT equivalent yield, just the weight of the entire bomb

I guess you can say they got autobahmed
