Apparently, a girl was suspended for uttering "Bless You" in a school setting and confronted because it was a "religious expression".  When she defended herself, she was sent to a school administrator and suspended.

Although it does say that the girl "shouted across the room", I really don't see the point behind this. Where is this world going...

if its a public school they really cant do anything to her

this isnt right

good its about time we started the atheist agenda rolling

im agnostic and i say bless you too, because it's polite. this is total bs. Did they ban the pledge of allegiance too?

i sure do love freedom of religion

i wonder what else you can get in trouble for these days

the pledge of allegiance is a form of brainwashing

You saw nothing.

There are petitions to remove "Under God" from it altogether.

But yeah, iirc the phrase "Bless you." originated from Germany or something in the Middle Ages. If you sneezed, it possibly meant that you were coming down with an illness (like the plague or any other of the hundreds of at-the-time deadly diseases), so they'd utter the phrase "Bless you" as a coin of good luck that hopefully you wouldn't pick up something and/or die.

my teacher called security on someone who said "god damn" in class

Christian america is slowly being taken over by these athiest satanists. It disgusts me.

meh idc. i never say the pledge because i dont pledge to stuff unless im done reading all the fine print, especially after hearing that if there's a bad enough state of emergency the us gov will employ people in jobs like guards or construction workers. and it might not be true and even if it isnt, still.

This is just one of many failures of the American education system, if only we had a British school system implemented.

We don't read the pledge at my school. We don't even have flags in class. :cookieMonster:
