I never really understood why people say things like this.

Like, ok sure, they are young. Sure, there is not much they can do, honestly. But really, if they're happy, and want to just try something as harmless as saying they're dating and holding hands and such, why would you stop them from being happy like that? Maybe it's just me, but I feel like they should be able to try to be happy without people constantly saying this.

Though, if her father doesn't approve, just back off and give it a few years. This father might just think you guys are too young.
