OMFG I LOVE THAT VOCALOID

Author Topic: Is it normal that I cry to a certain vocaloid song?  (Read 1031 times)

I have a personal attachment to a vocaloid song named 'Megurine Luka - A single red leaf' (apologies if its mispelt, not good with JPN names), as it reminds me of my mother who had passed away from breast cancer in 2013, about a year after I found the song.

Is this, well, normal?

I'm probably gonna get told I'm posting in the wrong section, but, well, I don't know where to put this other than here.

Yeah, that's normal. I can't stand hearing certain names because they remind me of people I'm either scared of or hate.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being a single dramatic tear and 10 being snot-running, bratty-bitch crying), how much do you cry?

Well, it reminds me of the fact that I was too scared to look at my mother while she was in the hospital bed on her last days, so, an 8 I guess.

Well, considering that, I would say that it is normal. I may not be healthy, but it is normal. Have you sought counseling for that fact (and possibly more)?

I felt such guilt for never seeing my grandparents before they died that I slipped into a depression. I can only imagine how hard it must be for something similar happening with your own mother. You have my condolences.

Vica versa to you bro, sorry about your grandparents. I haven't sought counseling, no, I never really like explaining that sorta stuff, specially when its a vocaloid. You know how family members react when they don't even know what one of em is, right?

You don't have to say its vocaloid. You can just say its a song.

They do honestly ask me what song it is, I've had situations like this in the past, but more concerning pets.

Well, I'm definitely no therapist, but if all you're doing is crying to this song occasionally and getting on with life, there is no reason to fret.

I clicked "lol wat r u 4" before reading the post. Someone punch me.

If it's the thought of your mother making you cry and not really the song then that's totally normal.
If it's a song itself making you cry then it's probably not but hey, judging is for judges and I'm not a judge.
Yet.

Don't worry, there's nothing unhealthy about it. Crying is 100% normal in situations like this, and it actually helps you feel less sad by releasing stress hormones and certain chemicals as you cry.

Yes, and it only proves you cared for her incredibly.

you're not crying for the vocaloid song, you're crying for your mother
which is totally fine

There is nothing wrong with any song making you cry
