Author Topic: Xalos-"I wonder who crashed my server, let me just ban a random person instead!"  (Read 4300 times)

alright, gonna keep it short and simple.

I decided to join Xalos' Lava Trench Warfare, and ended up talking to user"BloodDrive" about myself teaching a lesson to some idiotic server host who was giving free admin to anybody in their game at the time of conversation.

After somehow pissing off BloodDrive about my grammar, Xalos states the following.

A few seconds after that, banned.

I have no clue whatsoever how to crash/ddos servers, and I wouldn't do it anyway, considering how much of a richard move it is.
I have no hostility towards Xalos, I've barely even met him in-game, but he has the right to assume that I did something along the lines of "crashing his server."
This bothers me because Xalos willingly took a wild guess at who "crashed his server," randomly pointing his finger at an innocent who just wanted to play the game at three in the morning.

noedit;
completely forgot to add this, I am user Paperclip.
apologies

Yes, banning you for crashing my server was a random guess, but "teaching a lesson" to someone just because they're giving free admin is enough for a permaban regardless.

Your drama is groundless.

you're an idiot?

Wow.

Your drama is groundless.

Quite the contrary, these words you have said here yourself give this drama even more basis to be true.

I mean hell, a permanent ban? What'd he even do?

Teach a lesson exclusively means to engage in an assholic act to try to dissuade undesirable behavior. The phrase does not mean to explain something to someone unless you're referring to someone who's already been established as a teacher.

"teaching a lesson" to someone who is giving out free admin therefore means engaging in acts of starfishry to try to make them not want to give admin out freely again in future. It means to clear their bricks and the bricks of others, to change their environment settings to try to give them headaches or potentially migraines, or banning hundreds of thousands of users to give their server a bad name.

The phrase "teaching a lesson to some idiotic server host who was giving free admin to anybody" therefore means that you have found someone who believes that human beings are basically decent and good creatures, and you are actively deciding not to disagree with them, but to instead stomp on their ideology, shove a stuff down their throat, and smash their head open with a sledgehammer.

There is nothing good about "teaching a lesson" to someone who believes humans are basically decent. A person who engages in such acts of starfishry is someone I do not want on my server.

-snop-

Yes, banning you for crashing my server was a random guess

You still avoided the problem that you banned him over a random assumption, You're both idiots.

a drama each time someone is perma? ew i should get 300 dramas

-snip-

Banning him for being a total starfish was the primary reason for the ban. Him being an extremely likely suspect for crashing my server earlier was in complement to the ban, not a prerequisite of it.

Why do the OP of drama threads always leave out the proven context and replace it with their own written version? We can't even see the conversation that was had, we just see one line from the admin before a ban screen. If this is the standard for proof in this community, you'll never see justice. Judging by the singular line we see from the tommy448 said in the chat, you sound like a condescending prick. Guess we'll never know, because we only see one line, the rest of the interaction has been conveniently left out. Sounds strategically bias to me.

I could take the pusillanimous individual route and just brand everyone involved an idiot and call it a contribution, but there really needs to be more data here. I cannot vouch for the legitimacy of this drama based on a ban reason and some butthurt whining.

So Xalos bans all the people that he thinks did it? Does he believe he is the DDoS Whisperer?

Ignoring everything. You're a moron and your ban is deserved.

Ignoring everything. You're a moron and your ban is deserved.
What was that for?

As far as I see, He seems to be Paperclip and he only seemed to tell Xalos why not to give out admin, Then he seemed to get banned for no reason. Even that BloodDrive person thought wrong grammee.

wait why was he giving out free admin in the first place

wait why was he giving out free admin in the first place
I think that was a different server
