To hell with the 6 million, that was a long time ago. 100 million native Americans died, but no one gives a stuff. Heck, even more recent and newer genocides have occurred since then.

An estimated 107 billion people have ever been born meaning about 100 billion and have died

but no one gives a stuff.

Our world is so horrible and insensitive we should go bomb Jerusalem

i dont see a problem with that. there should be some kind of long term benefit/payoff to war.
yeah its loving our economy now. but in 50 years we will have 90% of earths oil, and the other superpowers will have to suck our richard again.

we always get accused of involving ourselves all over the globe when we arent invited.
then guys like you cry that we arent doing it enough. like we intended to be heros or something.

its always been about being selfish. and always will be. this is the only way any nation has succeeded in anything.
anyone who hasnt figured it out yet is a sucker.
Still think we should have acquired Iraq. Can't think of any other time in history when a nation fought on foreign soil, not for the soil itself, but for the people living on it. Which is fine and all, but we're not exactly in a great situation ourselves.

Kinda unsettling.

i guess in world war 1 and 2 britain and to an extent russia were fighting on french/german soil for the people and not to own the land (apart from russia i guess)

I would say that still counts as fighting for land, as one of the big reasons we fought on french/german soil (among other places) was to stop the national socialist's who wanted our land, same as the Russians.
We weren't fighting for new land (although technically got it in the shape of West Germany/Berlin), but to keep our own.

But yeah, it was also about defending our allies too.

I like how quickly this thread devolved into arguing because of caribou.

If the US/UN has to intervene anywhere in the world it should only be because of a humanitarian crCIA, not because it wants a certain resource. The whole "WMD" bullstuff was just an excuse for Bush/Cheney to invade Iraq to gain access to its oil reserves.

We couldn't have just acquired Iraq, it would have provoked a lot more outrage from the international community, and I bet the Iraqi people would rather remain Iraqi rather than suddenly be forced to be American. The insurgency would probably have been a hell of a lot bigger, and the cost of the war even more.

No stuff.

My point is that we should help on the condition that we get some sort of stake in the nation. If we keep spending trillions of dollars to fight wars on foreign soil just for the good of the people there, we won't be able to anymore.

Or we could have just not invaded Iraq illegally. No, we caused the problem, its our problem, the Iraqi people owe us nothing.

Too bad no one learned from Operation Desert FOX.

How about the all the other victims that were killed in the Holocaust like the gypsies, the homoloveuals, the crippled, the deformed, mixed ethnics, even blacks. Oh that's right, every time the holocaust is brought up we have to remember the 6 million because for some reason, only the jews get special attention.

We are all humans, no one should get special treatment because of their background. All victims and people are deserving of equal attention.

Tell me another ethnic group that's been persecuted every few hundred years then
