Framerate drops when streaming

When I stream, at random, the FPS will drop to about 10/20 for a few seconds and then return to normal. When this happens, the CPU temp decreases and the load increases, while the GPU temp stays the same and its load decreases.

This only happens when streaming and it didnt happen a few months ago, I dont know what the problem is. I used to be able to stream no problem.

Specs:
AMD FX-8120 @ 3.1GHz
16GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600MHz
AMD R9 280X
750W CiT Gold PSU
Nothing is over/under clocked

A problem could be that the streaming software is using the same core(s) as the game. Maybe there's a way to get it to use different cores?

I have no idea how to do/check this

You may want to look into updating whatever software you're using to stream and updating video drivers.

I updated OBS and reinstalled catalyst then streamed again for about 20 minutes, and got one drop. Its not as common as it used to be, but csgo isnt exactly an intense game to run

Try using Xsplit for a while (I know, gross) only to see if it's only a problem with OBS, or if it's a problem with your computer.

streamed with xsplit for 20 minutes or so and no drops. Maybe I didnt go long enough or what, but it might be an OBS issue alright
